Anping Fort
In the early 17th century, the Dutch, with a combination of military and commercial forces, occupied today's Anping in 1624 and built Fort Zeelandia as its defensive fortress. The entire project was completed in 1634. After Zheng Chenggong conquered the Dutch City in 1662, he renamed it Anping Town and the inner city to Neifu, so Taiwanese people called it Wangcheng. During the Qing Dynasty, the Taijiang Inland Sea gradually lost its importance due to siltation and land floating. In addition, the Qing soldiers destroyed Fort Zeelandia and built the Yizai Golden City, so it gradually fell into disrepair. It was rebuilt after the Japanese occupation and was named "Anping Fort" after World War II. Currently, the only authentic remains from the Dutch period are the brick walls of the outer south city wall in front of the castle. The old banyan tree has twisted roots and has witnessed the history of Taijiang over the past 400 years.

Anping Tree House
History of Anping Tree House (Deji Foreign Company)* In 1865, the customs was established in Anping and the port was officially opened. Foreign merchants then set up foreign companies here one after another. In a short period of time, foreign businessmen gathered here and foreign companies were everywhere. *1867 The British firm De Kee & Co. was founded in Haitoushe, Anping at that time. It mainly traded in bulk goods such as opium, camphor, and sugar. Together with Yi Kee, He Kee, Dong Xing and Li Kee which were established successively, they are collectively known as the Five Major Foreign Trading Companies of Anping. *1895 After Japan took over Taiwan, the Japanese government took back the monopoly on trading of major commodities such as opium and camphor. The trading volume of foreign companies dropped sharply. In addition, the Anping Port became increasingly silted up, affecting the loading and unloading of ships. Many foreign companies closed down except De Kee Foreign Company, which continued to operate. *1911 After the foreign companies in Anping were closed one after another, the Japanese converted it into a salt company. After World War II, it was converted into the Tainan Salt Works Office. *1979 In 1979, the Tainan City Government took back the Tak Kee Trading Company and renovated it to make it a wax museum of Taiwan's development history. *2001 In 2001, the tree house was opened to artists and renovated in three phases, becoming the back garden of Tainan City.
